Black Friday Online Sales Hit a Record $10.8 Billion in the U.S.

U.S. shoppers spent an unprecedented $10.8 billion online this Black Friday, according to an updated report from Adobe Analytics. This marks a 10.2% increase compared to the $9.8 billion spent in 2023, highlighting the growing dominance of digital shopping during the holiday season.

Mobile and Online Shopping Surge

Consumers increasingly turned to their mobile phones, laptops, and desktops to hunt for Black Friday deals. This trend benefits e-commerce giants like Amazon and Walmart, with Walmart investing heavily in store-to-home deliveries to capture a larger share of the online market.

Hot Products and Trends

Top-selling items included makeup, skincare, haircare products, Bluetooth speakers, and espresso machines. Notably, online toy sales skyrocketed by 622% compared to average October sales, while jewelry and appliance sales surged by 561% and 476%, respectively.

Cyber Monday Outlook

With Black Friday setting the stage, retailers are now gearing up for Cyber Monday. Adobe predicts online spending could reach $13.2 billion, potentially setting another record. As the holiday season continues, all eyes will be on whether these trends sustain through December.
